Topsail Beach

Topsail Beach is the south end of the island. Pastel cottages, sea turtle nests, and streets where the speed limit is more of a suggestion. The kind of place that hasn't changed much, on purpose.

The town that decided not to grow up.

Topsail Beach sits at the southern tip of the island, past Surf City. There are no chain stores, no high rises, and the town has fought to keep it that way for sixty years. Most homes are smaller stilt cottages handed down through families, and many guests have been coming back for decades. It's a quieter, slower stretch with a fishing pier, a famous sea turtle hospital, and the kind of evening sky that pulls people out onto their porches without anyone planning it.

Why families return to the south end.

The traditions stay. The crowds don't.

  • Classic stilt cottages.

  • Sea turtle nesting capital of the island.

  • Jolly Roger Pier for fishing and sunsets.

  • Tiny, walkable downtown with shops and ice cream.

A few practical notes.

Topsail Beach has its own town ordinances, separate from Surf City and North Topsail. Pet rules are stricter here in the summer, with dogs off the beach during peak hours from May through September. Parking is mostly residential, so most guests rely on bikes, golf carts, or short walks. There's a small grocery and a handful of restaurants in town, but most guests pair Topsail Beach with a Surf City run for the bigger market.

Slow streets. Salt air. Same as ever.
