The Tides That Bind

The home was in an amazing location! We were steps from the beach which was amazing and we had the bay in the backyard! The sunrise was beautiful from the front decks and sunsets were beautiful from the back decks! The stairs are very steep and not wide so if you have an elderly person use care and be cautious. Unfortunately, the yard wasn’t maintained and this made it difficult to take our small dogs to the potty as the grass was well past our ankles. The house also could have been cleaned a bit better as there was lots of hair, dirt and sand all over the floors when we arrived. We decided to sweep it ourselves rather than have the rental company send someone out. We also did not have any linens or towels (which were included in the listing) and had to wait a couple of hours for someone to bring them, but they were very quick to respond to us. All in all, this is a beautiful home, with some wear due to the climate and being a rental. I would recommend this home as it was nice!

The house was not as nice as I expected. Kind of worn. However, the view was awesome form all angles. The pool was nice but we had storms and there was some trash each day and small crabs in the pool. We cleaned it with the net and used it and enjoyed it. The path to the beach was a little confusing. There were dunes in front of us and it was a little difficult to know where to walk to the beach. Several stairways said "No trespassing". We had a leak from a storm and called and they were very quick to come out but they could not do anything as it was structural. They gave us towels to help keep the water out. I appreciated the call back when we called and then they came out. I felt they were sensitive to our needs.

This was a great vacation spot. My family and I spend every summer at topsail. We really like north topsail, it’s much less crowded plus we like homes like this that have easy access to the beach and the sound. The access right across the street was perfect and we loved the dock right behind the house at the sound. It was a bit shallow, so not the best for kayaking, but we could have if we wanted to. We liked that it was on 2 stories, my mom has trouble with stairs so having a master on the main living level was great. The pool was pristine and there were lots of beach toys and furniture for us to use. Great spot overall!
